Winter Storm Leon (aka Snowpocalypse 2014)
We got snow! About 4 inches! This rarity basically shuts down the South. So, we got two snow days and a delay out of the deal, which was pretty cool.
The hounds had an amazing time in the snow, as well, and that post is on its way!
The district called the snow day Monday at 6:00 pm. The first flakes fell around 8:30, after the guys were in bed. So, we got them back up for a bit so they could taste it. |

The snow was too dry for fabulous snowmen or snowballs. So, Jon and Ethan fashioned this Mike Wasowski, which just happened to perfectly match his jacket. |

The Calm Before the Storm
We are expecting a few inches of snow tomorrow afternoon! It's the first time in three years here in SC. So, our district called a snow day already at about 6 this evening (right when I was taking these photos in 65-degree temps.... crazy weather). We are looking forward to the time together.

Surprise, Grandma!
Last month, Jon's mom retired from a long, successful career as a home health RN. We wanted to make it special for her, so we threw a small party January 4. Jon's sister, who had just been with her in California for the holidays, lied and said she was flying home to Austin. Instead, Christina secretly flew here to SC and surprised Cathy! It was a great moment and evening, captured here in video and pics.

Lego Love
The boys scored in the Lego department this Christmas. This was taken December 29 and shows the fruits of all their (and Daddy's) labor. Other than the Joker's Fun House (constructed by Santa on Christmas Eve), Andrew (and occasionally Ethan) constructed all of this in 4 days' time. We moved the play kitchen out of our real kitchen and replaced it with a Lego table, which is working out well; haven't stepped on one of the suckers for at least a month!
Where's Ethan? |
