We love that his BAW-OOL sounds as if this kid already lives in South Carolina (no offense, Jack Lee, Kim, or Glen and family)! Among the other words in his short repertoire are pretty decipherable versions of mama, bath, bubble, and Elmo.
It's so lame that we can't exactly pinpoint the dead-on FIRST one. You know how there are so many prep syllables, and then they just turn into something, but it's such a grey area. I did write in his baby book that the first word he really meant was "mama" and he said it in February, when he was about 7 months old.
So cute! Ben also says "ball" like he's from the south. It's so much fun when they start talking! And, I totally agree that it takes a while for you to understand what they are saying and that it is actually a word. Ben's been calling his bottle "ba-ba" for a while...I only recently figured out that that's what he wants when he says it.
that's okay, I can't pinpoint evelyn's first word. I only know "dog" was one of her earliest, understandable words. And Vivian? For shame, I have no idea, maybe it's written down somewhere....considering she didn't start talking until she was, like 3...

How exciting! What/when was his first word?

I cried tears of joy and wonder. Please send videos of all his words!
Lots of Love, M/G

Adorable and smart boy! An early talker is so fun! Enjoy this stage. :)
